Spiez Castle

Become a knight at Spiez Castle

Children can celebrate birthdays at the castle or embark on the Knight’s Trail. By completing a three-part series of tasks at the castles of Spiez, Thun and Oberhofen, kids progress from the level of page to knave – and after passing the tests and completing a special expedition, they graduate to full knights.

Dream weddings

Built in the early Romanesque style, the thousand-year-old castle church which is free and non-denominational, adjacent to Spiez Castle is a highly popular venue for weddings. Civil ceremonies are once a month in the castle’s romantic wedding hall.

Castle grounds, gardens and café

Filled with colourful flowers, the castle grounds make a sight for sore eyes at any time of year. Take a stroll or enjoy the view of Lake Thun from a bench. On the ground floor is the castle café, where you can treat yourself to a castle breakfast, a soup, a coffee or a glass of Spiez wine.
