Children read the story about Grimmimutz (the story is written in German only) along the walk, play at various stations and discover nature. Cook a typical Swiss sausage, such as the Cervelat, on one of the barbecue sites along the path.
Grimmimutz is one of a kind, a good-natured soul, who calls the area of Grimmialp his home. He loves nothing more than peace and nature. However, life is not always easy, and his evil neighbour disturbs the peaceful atmosphere. But Grimmimutz is not alone. The giant Spillgert is his loyal friend, and together they help the locals to fight against the evil intentions and pranks of the Pepper Witch and her husband Lothar.
Natural experience for children
The various activity stations are created for children. Whilst hiking, they’ll have fun learning how to respect nature, and their feet will almost walk on their own. Did you catch a glimpse of Grimmimutz’ grey hair glimmering behind a gnarled rootstock? You won’t be able to miss the huge Spillgerte, the enchanted giant of the story, at the back of the valley.

Directions
Near the «Maadbrücke» (Maad bridge) you’ll fly on the «Hexenflug» (witch flight) downhill like a witch on her broom. How exciting! After a short ascent, you’ll reach the «Mutzenstube» log cabin. The lucky one who draws the best Grimmimutz and solves the mystery a little bit further down the way wins the yearly contest. The next activity station is called «Hexe entzaubern» (remove the witch’s powers). Who can remove the witch’s powers without being discovered? At the next activity station, the giant Spillgert hits the witch with a fir tree. Who has the best shot and can hit her with a pine cone? We recommend collecting pine cones along the way so you’ll have enough ammunition when you arrive at the activity station.
After the Pepper Witch had turned the giant Spillgert into a mountain, Grimmimutz built a fountain to catch all the giant’s tears. At this fountain you can quench your thirst with Spillgert’s tears. Just before the descent you’ll arrive at the «Sennenkegelbahn» (bowling alley of alpine herdsmen and dairymen). Who will manage it to knock down all the skittles with the wooden ball in one shot? This is a hobby that alpine herdsmen and dairymen discovered a long time ago. They used to build their bowling alley out of wood too, just like the Sennenkegelbahn.
There’s just one more activity to master before going back down to the starting point: Clambering up the climbing wall where you can improve your climbing skills. Once you come back down, you’ll see the wooden water game. There you can play happily with water and observe how water flows. Where does it come from, where does it go to?
