Ruedi Rubi, Hotelier, Hotel Chemihüttli recommends:
Descend the winding mountain road from Axalp to Lake Brienz. The first part of this tour leads you along the twists and turns of the Brünig pass road to Giswil in canton Obwalden. This is where the single-lane section over the Glaubenbüelen Pass towards Mörlialp begins. The pass road, called Panoramastrasse, is signposted accordingly. Enjoy a leisurely ride by alp meadows to Sörenberg behind the Brienz Rothorn. From here the route becomes a two-lane road again, leading you through gentle countryside into the Emmental valley. At Schangnau it is well worth taking a short detour to Kemmeribodenbad, where the country inn of the same name is a charming place to take a break. From there, ride on to the next highlight - the Schallenberg Pass. At 1167 metres altitude, magnificent views of the Bernese Alps and a winding road to Thun beckon. Ride along the northern shore of Lake Thun past the St. Beatus Caves and continue along the northern shore of Lake Brienz back to Brienz.

Highlights:
- Riding over the Brünig, Glaubenbüelen and Schallenberg pass roads
- The winding and scenic Panoramastrasse
- Sörenberg
- Restaurant at Kemmeribodenbad
- Schallenberg motorbike meet, every Friday between May and September, starts at 17.00h.
